This week we’re looking at Summer Skin Detox and making sure you’re skin is given some much needed attention.

Summer is finally here, and if you’re still not ready to show more skin at the beach – stay with us! Radiant and clear skin is an absolute must-have this season, and if you’re wondering how to accomplish that, you’re at the right place. Here are five useful tips on how to detoxify it and feel that summer vibe as soon as possible.

Eat foods rich in detox properties

One of the best ways to detox your body is certainly through the foods you eat – that’s beneficial both for your skin and your overall well-being. Fresh fruits and veggies are crucial here, since they are high in detoxifying properties, which will help your skin shine this summer. Dark leafy greens, apples, cabbage, and beets are just some of the highly beneficial goodies that will cleanse your liver, which will inevitably show on your skin. On the other hand, you should avoid dairy products, as well as animal fats, processed foods, and commercial sweets, since these can easily clog your pores and cause an acne breakout.

Start fresh with a clay mask

Pore-clogging sebum and heavy-metal residue from tap water that can dry out your skin are your worst enemies during hot summer days, so give your best and get rid of them as soon as possible. A good clay mask will do wonders for your skin. It’s important that you know that there are different types of clay masks – from bentonite clay that does wonders for oily skin, over kaolin clay that comes in different colours and therefore addresses different problems, to French green clay, which is great for pore-tightening and oil-absorption. Choose the one appropriate for your skin type, and you’ll see an instant improvement. However, if you’re not quite sure what to do – you can always multimask!

Cleansing bath to the rescue

Detoxifying your body can also be done through a cleansing bath, which can flush out toxins from your body as efficiently as sweating in the sauna. One way to accomplish that is by adding Epsom salt to your regular bath. It’s fabulous simply because it reduces inflammation while getting rid of toxins that have been building up in your body over time. Apart from that, Epsom salt can also ease your back and limb pain, while dealing with muscle strain at the same time. Combine it with some essential oils, such as lavender, and you will see that dirt and impurities will be drawn out of your pores.

Don’t forget to cleanse

Cleansing is one more way of detoxifying your skin before exposing it to sun rays, and you should do it on a daily basis. It’s important that you choose a cleanser that’s appropriate for your skin type, since that is the only way to do it right. Natasha Cook Concentrated Cleanser is one of the most amazing picks, since it’s free of detergent and soap that can dry out your skin and make it look lifeless and dull. This product will successfully remove debris and impurities without striping your skin of its natural oils. Its gentle formula makes it perfect for all skin types – even the sensitive one – and you can be sure that it won’t cause breakouts or irritation.

Exfoliate on a daily basis

Apart from cleansing, exfoliating is another way of getting rid of different toxins that have been collecting in your skin over time. Besides that, you should do it if you would like your skin to look youthful and radiant – removing dead skin cells will uncover the new, rejuvenated layer of your skin which will tan much faster. Use a gentle scrub, such as Queen Helene Oatmeal ‘n Honey Natural Facial Scrub, and it will surely leave your skin glowy and buttery soft. Apart from that, it smells really good, which makes this whole exfoliating experience even better.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways to detox your skin this summer, and it’s all up to you to choose the ones that will work for you. Protect your skin during summer and following  all these steps may be just the thing skin needs – give it a shot, it will surely do wonders for it!
