Are you a last minute buyer when it comes to birthdays? Same. And if I’m bad with birthdays, days like Mother’s and Father’s Day also tend to be a frantic and desperate attempt to find something the night before on the high street. It always surprises me what you can find down your local shopping district. I actually live near Lewisham and they have their own shopping centre, which I’ve actually done promotional work in! (I was dressed as a giant Easter Bunny and scared most kids). Check out some of these gift ideas to kerb that Father’s Day panic.
Next Signature Holdall – £120
Keep that father figure in your life stylish with this signature, brown leather holdall from Next. Enough space to put all their ‘man things‘ in it.
Linen is the only material this Summer that won’t make him sweat like he’s just stepped out of a sauna. Plus it’s M&S, so you know it’s good quality. Go on, he deserves it!
Sainsbury’s Slogan Apron – £10
For someone who’s dad actually does the cooking, I think I’d probably give this Sam when he becomes a dad. He’s like my mum – it’s not can’t cook, it’s won’t cook! And if your dad is a stranger to the kitchen, at least he won’t get anything down that nice linen shirt you’ve just brought him…
M&S Best Of British Cufflinks – £19.50
Have a traditionally British dad or father-in-law? Does he sing ‘God Save The Queen‘ and drink tea? Well, he’ll scrub up well with these cufflinks. Be prepared though that this will probably only make him more patriotic. #facepalm
M&S Collection Floral Print Shirt – £22.50
Give your dad’s wardrobe a little refresh with this gorgeous floral print shirt. Definitely not tempted to just buy one myself and pass it off as a woman’s shirt.
Got a dad who’s a dab hand at the darts? Treat him to his very own dartboard and never have to worry about causing a serious injury. I know that I’d end up stabbing someone accidentally with a dart. *Never give Natalie sharp objects
Sainsbury’s Home Legend Mug – £3.50
Legends. They come in all different shapes and sizes. Who knew your dad was one?!
And for those with simpler tastes, a pack of playing cards and a few bottles of Cobra beer will go down a treat!
Make sure you enter Lewisham’s competition to win £100’s worth of Father’s Day gifts – because this would give you a get out of jail free card for the next important date you miss!
Hopefully, this has given you some last minute inspiration this Father’s Day. Let me know what you are getting up to in the comments below!
