Now that I’ve gained some semblance of my waist back after having a course of Hypoxi (which you’ll hear about soon) and hitting the gym, myself and Sam did a spot of shopping to get a few new pieces for our wardrobe. ZARA was a place I never went in because none of it really appealed to me at the time.
However, when I shopped around the store the other day, I found that there was some really gorgeous pieces that were on trend and almost fresh off the runway. Yes some of the clothes are a little more pricer than average but most outfits come in at a reasonable high-street price.
The first thing I picked up was the Zara Basics White Ribbed Crop Top (£3.99). I’ve been swaying away from sleeveless or short sleeve tops for a while now because I’d gained weight and therefore lost a lot of muscle in my arms. It had pretty much turned into a ‘bingo wing‘ situation and it made me feel so self-conscious.
One of the benefits of weight lifting was that my arms were toned and strong. I have a while to go before I start weight lifting again as I want to slim down, but I finally felt confident to pull the sleeveless top off.
It’s a top from ZARA’s basic range and I love how luxuriously soft it is. I’m definitely in need of some new bras because it’s slightly see through but I don’t give a shit to be honest, let them stare.
The trousers are literally my favourite buy of this year. These Button Waist Trousers in burnt orange (£29.99) snatch my waist in like a perfectly contoured nose. I FEEL SO GOD DAMN SKINNY RIGHT NOW.
My body shape is very much big on top and big on the bottom, so the ruffled waist gives me more shape than a standard waistline trouser. I love this ensemble together, it makes me feel super stylish without even really trying.
The shoes are from Next and I wore them recently to a family wedding. They’re so comfortable and I’m really enjoying experimenting with different colours than the ones I usually go for. My wardrobe is definitely a lot more colourful than it used to be and I’m living for it.
ZARA is definitely going to be my regular stop when shopping now and I’ve actually created a wishlist already of pieces that I’d like to buy next.
From left to right – Cat Eye Sunglasses (£15.99) | Floral Printed Trousers (£29.99) | Knotted Dress (£29.99) | Khaki Polo Shirt (£29.99) | Floral Printed Blazer (£49.99) | Metal Plate Earrings (£9.99)
Big statement earrings are in trend at the moment so I’d love a pair of these gold metal plate ones. Cat Eye Sunglasses are also back in the frame and I think these leopard print ones are sassy AF. I also desperately want a full suit and this floral one screams me. So if anyone would like to just buy me them, I’d appreciate it.
