A Mateus Summer | The Big Feastival

Summer is my favourite season. Everyone is so happy and most evenings are spent out socialising with friends and having a glass or two of wine…prosecco…I mean anything alcoholic really. So when Mateus sent me TWO bottles of their Rose wine, well it didn’t take long for me to find an excuse to open one.

Mateus WineMateus sent me over their rose wine to promote The Big Feastival, a three day music event featuring the perfect Summer wine that is Mateus. Now I’ve always seen Mateus knocking about when I’ve been to supermarkets to pick out wine on various occasions. I always avoided it just because of how cheap it was. I honestly thought it wouldn’t be something tasty.

Now first off I thought it was super generous of Mateus to send not one but two bottles of their rose wine but I was surprised to find two champagne glasses engraved with the Mateus logo included in the package also. How freaking cute.

At first, I didn’t realise this wine was fizzy, so when I unscrewed the cap and a little burst of fizz sounded off, I was taken off guard. This bottle of wine went down very quickly by myself and my ex-work colleague/friend Sophie that it was gone before we’d even had our food. #sorrynotsorry

The Big Feastival takes part over the August Bank Holiday and features a line-up of up and coming musicians throughout the three days. The festival is celebrating Mateus’ musical heritage and Portuguese roots, alongside some delicious food to help line the stomach. I was so impressed by the taste of the sparkling rose wine that I’m actually glad we saved the other bottle because I will definitely be having it all to myself at the weekend.

Mateus Wine GlassesMateus’ Rose is surprisingly refreshing and highly drinkable considering it’s retail price of around £3.50-£5.50 depending on where you shop. It’s available in most supermarkets and I loved that it was the perfect combination between dry and sweet. It went down very well with our Chinese and it’s the perfect wine for this hot weather.

If you consider yourself a festival goer or just want to go for the delicious food and drink that will be on offer, visit The Big Feastival for more information on booking tickets. Mateus Rose Acoustic Picnic Stage is where you’ll find Mateus so be sure to drop them a visit if you go.
