What To Watch On Netflix This Month

OH BOY. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these and I’ve started to realise that Netflix does have its ups and downs when it comes to available content. I binge watch a lot of series, documentaries and reality shows. But the problem is that I sit through a whole series but then have to wait for everything to either update with a new series or find something similar. So there’s a month or so where there’s nothing I fancy watching. However, these past few months have been epic for content and I wanted to share with you, what to watch on Netflix this month.

Netflix

Russian Doll

So I watched this back in February but it’s still on Netflix to watch. It’s a premise that’s been done before, basically the main characters gets killed and then wakes up back in the same place she started that night. However, this has a lot of different twists and is always incredibly funny. It stars Orange Is The New Black’s Natasha Lyonne who is just incredible. It’s dirty, hilarious and tugs at the heartstrings at times but then it’s closely followed by Natasha’s character Nadia saying something rude or offensive. I binge watched this series in the space of a day and if you love a complex storyline then you’ll love this one.

Grace & Frankie

Ahhh man I love this show. It’s just SO FUNNY. Grace & Frankie is one I’ve mentioned watching on my blog before and although I should be picking out new shows to watch, this one is a firm favourite of mine. It follows two women, Grace and Frankie obvs. They find out that their partners of so many years have been having an affair with each other and from that bombshell, the ladies end up moving in together to get through their breakups. It’s such a good watch and I highly recommend it.

RuPaul’s Drag Race

YASSSS the queens are back, they’re sickening and they are ready to snatch Ru’s crown. RuPaul’s Drag Race is a drag competition and it’s hysterical, emotional and overly dramatic. I mean, I was hooked from season one. I binge watched several seasons when it first got released on Netflix around 3 years ago and we’re now into Season 11. They’ve also confirmed recently that it’s coming over to the UK and I cannot wait to see what drag is over here. For a community that is misunderstood and constantly criticised from all angles, the show makes me feel so happy and good inside. I’m so glad that this exists on our TV in the mainstream and I hope more people continue to watch it so that they can learn about drag.

Tidying Up With Marie Kondo

This show, I kid you not has changed my life. No longer am I someone who hoards and holds onto crap. I now know how to fold a fitted sheet properly. Yes, you heard me right, a fitted sheet!  Tidying up with Marie Kondo follows this cute little lady who goes around American homes and helps tidy their home. Seems a little boring to the average teenager but for mid-twenties, trying to adult person – it’s freaking life changing. I got Sam to watch an episode and now he says thank you to everything he chucks away. You’ll only get this if you watch the show, so do it…now.

Cheapest Weddings

So now, we’re getting into the typical trash TV section. The tv shows that you can happily binge watch and not have to think too much. It’s perfect for when you’ve had a bad day and just want to unwind with a glass of wine and Netflix on the sofa. Cheapest Weddings follows a load of Australian brides and grooms to be as they plan a wedding on a tight budget. Some are actually really impressive and it shows how communities and loved ones can come together to help out a couple. However, there’s some that are god awful and the first one arrived at their wedding reception where only a few people showed up. It was cringe-worthy, but my god was it TV gold. Also as I’m planning a wedding myself, it’s good to know what to do and what NOT to do.

Yummy Mummies

Again, it’s an Australian reality show. I don’t know why there’s suddenly a surge of Australian shows but hey, I’m living for it. This reality programme is a bit like the housewives but follows a group of three ‘yummy mummies‘ as they go about their daily lives. Suddenly another soon to be mummy called Maria and her mum, wait for it…Margarita, challenge the trio in what’s basically a who’s richer standoff. It’s sometimes a little crude but again it makes for great telly and I’m definitely not following the yummy mummies Instagram account.
