The summer months for me are the best time of year. I feel much happier and positive, there’s a lot more going on and although juggling a full-time job, my blogging, freelance writing and some semblance of a social life are tough, I’m much more myself when I’m busy. There’s definitely a lot I want to get sorted though over the summer as there’s a lot going on and I want to keep myself organised. Here are my plans for the summer!
Get Fit & Have A Healthy Relationship With Food
My relationship with food is a difficult one and it’s something I’m now acknowledging consciously. We still live that university lifestyle in a way, we’ll eat out a lot of instead of just the one course, we’ll get two. I drink a lot during the week and that can be the biggest cause of my weight gain. I’m still a size 12 but I’m on the edge of going up to a 14 and that’s not what I want. My plan is to sign up to a local gym that £19.99 a month and then pay for a personal trainer, even if it’s only for once a month. Alternatively, I’d probably consider weight watchers. I’d love to get down to 10st by the time my wedding comes along. But that does mean I have to lose about 2 stone. #challengeaccepted
I’m definitely going to eat more healthily and I have some jars like these https://www.freedomjars.ca/, which have in the past, been great for making breakfast smoothies.
Do A Deep Clean Of The Flat
I really can’t believe we’ve been in our flat for over a year now. That time has literally flown by in a heartbeat! It’s now time though to have a deep clean of the flat. There are a few scratches here and there from where we’ve either bumped things into the wall or have shown up randomly. So we want to address this by doing a little touch up of paint around the flat whilst it’s warm enough to have the windows open. I want to do another declutter and get some more storage stuff for things to have a home. We’ll be doing a deep clean of the oven, the dishwasher and washing machine. I can already feel the excitement that’s coming from Sam. He DEFINITELY loves to clean…
Fortunately exterior wise, we don’t need to think about heat wire for roof or sealing up any cracks in the brick because it’s all covered in the service charges we pay to live on the development.
Pay Off More Wedding Costs
So our save the date invitations are currently as I type, being printed. We’re hoping to get these out probably in August, early September. If we can get them out any sooner, we will because I want to show off the beautiful design work that Joanne from Arnold & Bird has created for us. Our wedding budget makes me feel a little bit sick with worry but I know that I have the workaholic in me to work my butt off to get what I want. So for our wedding costs during this summer, I’d like to pay for the wedding insurance, the register, the rest of the invitations and maybe a few deposits for catering etc. The more we do in the early stages, the better.
Plan For Our Family Home
As me and Sam love London, it’s going to be hard to move, but we want to make sure we’re within a commutable distance regardless. However, that means we need to find the perfect location and that might take some more research and what we can afford. I’d love somewhere like Oxford, as it’s a reasonable commute but also there’s enough going on there to bring up children and to have the lifestyle me and Sam currently have here in the city of London. We’ll be sure to look at MyBekins.com when it comes to finding a place that suits all our needs.
Launch Tilly & Rouge
So considering I was meant to launch my second blog in February, that hasn’t happened. I didn’t expect to become as busy with my blog and freelance writing as I have these past few months and that’s also cut the amount of time I had to work on the fabulous content that I’d like to put on Tilly & Rouge. Hopefully, this will happen soon. I have some exciting plans for Tilly & Rouge. UpYourVlog will always be my baby but it’s time to bring another platform to the forefront for a while.
Go Freelance
I’ve been dreaming of getting back into freelancing full-time and I made the decision that this year was going to be the time to do it. It’s definitely still on the cards but I want to make sure that I’m prepared financially before taking the plunge. Freelancing is the perfect way of working so that I can potentially dip my toes back into acting. I believe it’s never too late to become successful in acting and I’m looking forward to what the world of freelancing can offer me moving forward.
