Tips To Improve Your Home On A Budget

The homes that we live in are our sanctuaries. There’s nothing like coming home from a weekend away or from a hard day at work. However, we can get a little tired of our surroundings and we want to give our space a little refresh but without having to spend a fortune. Here’s a few tips to help transform your home on a budget.

Take Advantage Of Soft Furnishings

Throws and cushions are a hygee lovers dream and the more the merrier is the motto that I tell myself when it comes to my home. I’m thinking of getting a throw basket to go down by the side of sofa for winter time because you can never have too many throws. Cushion covers are fairly cheap and they are so easy to change that you can buy new ones to switch around for each season.

Think Small When It Comes To Decor

When it comes to decor, you don’t need to buy big, extravagent pieces. Think smaller pieces of home decor like trinket dishes and floating shelves that you could fix to the wall to house potted plants and photo frames. These inexpensive home decor ideas can actually make a big difference to the space  so that it feels like it’s been transformed in a big way. Add Some Indoor Nature

The one thing that I’ve been obsessed over recently is indoor plants. Even though I’m on my second batch of plants – I killed one and the other was on death’s door but has pulled through. I think they do so much for a space and can lift your mood. It’s very noticable for me and now I kind of want to give all of my rooms a bit of indoor nature. When it comes to picking the right plants, I originally went to my local garden centre but recently I tried out a company called Patch and they are really good. I would highly recommend them as they deliver the plants straight to your door and you can also choose for them to come in stylish pots too.

Touch-Ups With Paint

We’ve got a weekend in August where we are spending the weekend, cleaning our home from top to bottom. We also want to do a few touch-ups to our home, as well as having a few bits and pieces that we can get our local handyman to put up on the walls. One thing we’d like to do ourself (or get the handyman to do it) is to touch up any scuff marks or chips with paint. This can make a big difference because any scuff marks make a property look tired and not well kept. Hopefully, by doing this, we’ll have a home that looks brand new again.
