A Six Month Life Update

God, we’re already halfway through the year?! How the hell did that happen? So much has happened within these last six months and I wanted to update you on what’s gone on and any future plans I have for the rest of the year. 2019 sure looks like an exciting year for both myself personally and for UpYourVlog, so let’s dive in.Photoshoot

Blog And Freelance Work Has Been Non-Stop

I genuinely feel as if I haven’t stopped since the start of January. The workload of freelance writing and blog collaborations has been so intense and although I’m not complaining, I really do need to give myself a break. With this and a full-time job, my blog has certainly suffered and the plans I had to update my blog in January, didn’t happen. I also wanted to launch my second blog but that’s now on the back burner until September, as well as my YouTube channel. It’s all about using my time wisely and working smarter, rather than harder. It’s something I haven’t perfected yet but I’m working on it. There have been some great brands that I’ve worked with so far and my favourites this year have been this Philip Kingsley Elasticizer review, reaching 1,000 blog posts and why it’s ok to give yourself a break.

We’ve Been In Our Home For A Year

I still can’t believe that we own a home. Like it’s ours. We’re adulting hard now because we actually pay a mortgage rather than rent. It’s wild. Anyway, a year has flown by since we first signed on the flat and I still love it as much as I did when we first moved in. We both knew it was an investment property and we’re excited to see what happens with the Crossrail. Hopefully, it covers any damage that is potentially done by Brexit. We have a beautiful spot in a private, gated development, so we’re certainly lucky. We’re probably going to stay in this property though until we’re married and then we’ll look at places outside of London so we can finally get ourselves a house with more bedrooms.

Sam Got Headhunted

I have many proud fiancé moments but this one definitely topped them all because my partner Sam got headhunted for a new job recently. He’s gone into a role that’s practically made for him and it’s going to help him develop his knowledge and contacts within the industry. I feel as though it’s been a long time coming and although he didn’t believe it at first, I knew that myself and Sam were destined to do big things and I think this is the start of a very successful career for Sam. SO PROUD BABE!

It’s Official – We’ve Hit The Wedding Years

Yep, it’s hit that point in our lives where all our friends are now getting into longer relationships, popping the question or getting married. So far this year we’ve been to three weddings. We have none for the rest of the year – THANK GOD. Not that I don’t love a wedding but damn, they’re expensive. It’s not just the day itself but finding accommodation and picking out an outfit. It’s so lovely though to see your close friends and family members getting married. I’m sure there will be plenty of other friends pipping us to the post before we get wed in 2021.

Planning More Trips Away

Even though we’re saving for a wedding, we still want to be able to go away because we both work so hard – and I’m in a serious need for a break. Our original plan was to travel around Italy in September but thinking about it, we thought by then we’d much prefer a relaxed, all-inclusive break. We’re possibly looking at the Dominican Republic as an option, providing we book it last minute, we could get a great deal.
