When me and Sam got together, we went down the old-fashioned route of meeting each other in person. We were both part of the same musical theatre society at university and even though I was told to stay away from Mr Griffiths (apparently he was a bit of a ladies man – he isn’t btw), I found myself falling for him and his witty, comical humour and charm.
Dating apps were only just becoming a thing when we got together and it wasn’t until I left university, that so many of my single friends were using these apps, including Badoo.
These apps connect individuals to one another and at this time of year, connection is so important. Ok, yes these apps can be somewhat negative if all you do is swipe and never interact with anyone but it could lead to finding a person you fall in love with.
Badoo can be set up via your Facebook profile or just by email. It’s an easy and fun way to connect with people, and around the holiday season is prime swiping so I have compiled together a few handy features of Badoo that will help you connect with others this Christmas!
Make use of pictures
Badoo is the world’s largest dating app which means that there’s a lot of people using this platform, I’m talking over 366 million users! There’s nothing more that I love doing than having a ‘badoo sesh’ on my friend’s phones. I’m always happy to take the reigns and swipe left or right in the hopes that I, Natalie Redman, will play cupid and match my friend with the love of their life.
Badoo lets you snap and upload photos so you can show off your current look and feature a few of your favourites. Avoid any passport photos and take your photos in good light.
The encounters feature is perfect for finding those nearby. It will also show you who’s online and who isn’t. There’s an option of filtering for preferences on gender and age and I love how the encounters page shows multiple people rather than just going through them individually. More time to spend chatting!
Showing off your personality
You have a personality and whether that comes with dry humour or an insane amount of sarcasm, use it. If I’ve learnt anything from blogging, it’s that people like to see the real you. Be honest and truthful but don’t reveal too much. After all, you want to keep a little mystery in this social media-heavy world.
With Christmas here, why not get festive and share some of your favourite things about the holiday season. You may find people connecting you with for sharing the same festive interests.
Be open to your preferences
Sometimes, we have this idea in our heads of what we’re after and that can be said for everything in life. It can be restricting. Being more open to your preferences may well surprise you with types of people that you never thought you’d connect with.
Badoo is an app that offers the chance for users to chat, date or just make new friends. Christmas is about being with loved ones so make sure you use Badoo this Christmas to connect with others and share the Christmas spirit.
