The Activities You MUST Do In Benidorm

It’s described as being the home away from home for Brits and it’s been a fair few years since I got the opportunity to holiday in Benidorm myself with the family. Interesting fact – we stayed in the hotel where they filmed the television show Benidorm before it aired. And even though it’s known mainly for attracting the British population, there’s still a lot of Benidorm that goes beyond just the bars and clubs that are there. So here are some of the activities you must do in Benidorm when you get the opportunity to go there.

When travelling to Benidorm, it’s important to find the right accomodation to suit your group, whether that’s a family, couples or a group of friends. There are lots of apartments in Benidorm if you don’t fancy staying within a hotel complex. You’re not restricted to food and where you spend your day lounging around so it’s worth considering Clickstay who have around 75,000 properties across the globe in seventy countries. These include apartments, countryside chateaus, ski chalets and even luxury private pool villas.  So when coming to Benidorm, you can go in style, rather than a typical hotel or resort set up.

El Casco Antiguo de Benidorm

It’s probably one of the best-looking cemeteries that exists in the world and it is stunning. It’s a shame that I didn’t get to see this because we weren’t so far away in distance from the hotel. However, if I ever go back, I’m definitely going to stop off here. It’s a little bit morbid to be walking through a cemetery on your holidays but this one is a beautiful spot to get amazing pictures of the the surrounding areas, plus it’s great to stop by and check out the old town. With it’s black and white-tiled flooring, it can be a great spot to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Aqualandia

For those who have a passion for water parks, Aqualandia is a great place to spend the day at. I’m pretty sure we went here during our time in Benidorm and that I’m hopefully not getting my wires crossed with another holiday. This is a good one for all ages and whether you have children or not, it’s a day out that will help you cool down from the glorious sunny weather you’ll get during your time there. Admissions are about £30 but there’s probably plenty of family options available to save some money. Zip down many of the slides that are available for both the children and adults, being sure to also have a go on Cyclon. This recent water slide attraction is said to be one of the largest in the world and gives you the feeling of zero gravity. It also needs a four-person raft to ride it.

Benidorm Island

Legend has it that a lovelorn giant went and ripped off the top of the mountain behind Benidorm and dumped it in the ocean. And although that’s a cool story, there’s more to this island than meets the eye. There’s glass-bottomed boat trips that go out to the island and as a nature reserve, that’s lots of beautiful things to see and explore as a day trip out there. It’s quite a sight to behold from the beaches of Benidorm and our family friend who was on the trip with us, tried to convince us kids that the lump of rock was moving.

Sample The Nightlife

And finally, if you’re someone who likes a drink and wants to explore what the nightlife has to offer, then Benidorm has plenty of it. It’s worth doing a bit of research on which bars or nightclubs are going to be the best for you and what you enjoy in terms of the atmosphere. As a tip, most locals of Benidorm will come out later at night, so it can be a good way to meet the locals this way. I didn’t get to fully experience the Benidorm nightlife as I was too young at the time, but it is said to be good.
