Why You Should Move To London

The Covid 19 pandemic is certainly causing havoc worldwide these days, and travel options are minimal right now. But it won’t always be this way, and, if anything, the experience has taught everyone to seize the day and make the most of life. Whether you live in the UK or abroad, one thing that you must put on your to-do list is to spend some time in London. London is home to people from all over the globe and here are some great reasons to join them. Here’s why you should move to London.

History and culture

Where to begin? London is bursting with incredible historical sites, and more are being discovered every day. The recent Crossrail development uncovered artefacts from 55 million years of history and prehistory while burrowing under the city’s streets. A great place to start is the iconic Tower of London. It was built in the twelfth century to terrify Londoners and is still an awe-inspiring sight. London is a great centre of art, from the National Gallery and Tate Modern to the cool galleries of Shoreditch: you will be spoilt for choice. It’s just one benefit when you move to London.

The Green Spaces

London has 3000 parks totalling 35 000 acres of green space! These green oases are dotted around the city, and everyone is welcome to relax in their beautiful open spaces or get sporty by jogging or even horse riding. You can see a concert in Hyde Park or watch wild deer roaming in Richmond Park.

The Food

It’s true, English cuisine is a joke in some quarters, but there is nowhere else on earth that you can find such a massive range of foods? Every taste, every dietary requirement, every national cuisine will be available within a one-mile radius of wherever you may be in London. Perhaps because their own is rather bland, the Brits love a wide variety of cuisines and food styles. Did you know that Britain’s favourite dish is Chicken Tikka Masala? This succulent fusion of a traditional Indian dish cooked in spice with sauce came about because the Brits do love gravy on their meat! More authentic world food is also widely available!

The weather

Why are you laughing? It must be dull to wake up every morning and know exactly what the weather will be for the rest of the day. In London, you can often experience four seasons in one day! Nothing can beat the freshness of a Spring day in London with pink blossoms on the trees, a dash of gentle sunshine, and, maybe, a sprinkling of rain. The variable climate means that there will always be something to discuss! Just be sure to bring your umbrella.

London is great for serious stuff too. Opportunities for work, whether casual or professional, are limitless. Attending college or university in London is a fantastic experience as the city is full of young people. If you are coming from abroad and plan to stay for a while, getting your residential status sorted out is essential. Don’t worry; there are plenty of immigration solicitors who can advise you. So, once this global craziness subsides, start packing your bags!
