So since starting a job which is fully office based, I have been drinking an excessive amount of coffee throughout the day. I feel like this isn’t really helping me function during the day and it’s also making me quite wired in the evening, when I should be relaxing. Therefore, I’ve decided to take a 30 day detox from coffee and replace it with Organic Matcha.
Matcha if you’ve not heard about it before, is a finely ground powder of specially grown and processed tea. It’s origin is China and comes in different forms such as ice-cream, lattes and used typically with hot water. I was never keen on matcha tea when I first discovered it back at university. However, since recently finding a love for fruit and herbal tea, when I tried it with hot water the other day I was pleasantly surprised.
The taste of the product is slightly on the bitter side, it’s not a sweet tea so if you have a sweet tooth, you may want to add some almond milk to the hot water. I will be keeping you updated on my progress and will also be taking note of any differences I’ve felt in my body since switching from coffee to matcha. This may seem like a lot but you only need a quarter to half a teaspoon of matcha per serving, so it will last a LONG time.
