As I write this blog post, I’m currently racing my way through The Big Bang Theory and I cannot quite believe I’ve stayed so committed to a long-running show! It’s just so funny and I know I’m going to be gutted when I finish all the seasons. There’s been a few shows that I’ve watched that I’ve included in this list purely because they need to be watched. So without further ado, here’s my Netflix Picks and what to watch this month.
The Big Bang Theory
The Big Bang Theory begins with two scientists, Leonard and Sheldon living together and finding out that a young girl has moved in opposite them. Throw in a few other characters and this is the geeky version of Friends!
I don’t know much about this show but I do know that it’s causing waves for those watching it! The first Season has premiered on Netflix and it’s apparently a suitable replacement for those who watched and are waiting for the second season of Stranger Things. Count me in!
Stranger Things is a fantastic show and one I managed to get through very quickly. Set in the 1983, a seemingly normal town becomes the centre point of weird happenings when a kid goes missing. It’s an absolute corker of a season and I cannot wait until the next season comes out which should be around Summer 2017. EXCITING.
Making A Murderer
Another season which I’m highly anticipating is the Making A Murderer, that unless at the time you had been living under a rock, had everyone talking about. It’s clear evidence that unfortunately in the USA, there is a lot of corruption and more worryingly it goes on in those who serve to protect us. Not quite sure when it will be released but I’m pretty sure it will align itself with the progress it’s been making recently in getting the wrongly convicted released in 2017.
Black Mirror is the perfect show if you want to get freaked out by a reality not too far from what we are living. Albeit a more extreme version but because we surround ourselves with social media, Black Mirror doesn’t speak that far from the truth. The show has three seasons and I think each episode stands alone. I’ve watched a few of the more recent ones and they are pretty terrifying.
The Crown is your typical British drama (so a great watch for any of my American readers who love the royal family). Sam my partner has been hooked on it and I’ve only watched the episodes he’s watched when we’ve been together so I think I need to watch this from the beginning to fully appreciate it. However from what I’ve seen so far, it’s got some fantastic acting in it and the production value of it is incredible. I’m pretty sure it’s the biggest amount spent on a Netflix Original to date.
Gilmore Girls. I haven’t actually watched the original series but apparently this was a big hit when I was growing up (I obviously missed out on this one!). The new series has only just been released but seeing as Netflix has got both the old and new seasons on there, I may have to start watching it. Even some of the men in my life have raved about it, so it must be good!
What have you been watching lately? Can you recommend any you’ve watched?
