Highs & Lows | Week 8

Another glorious week and the sunshine has been a scorcher this past weekend. I spent the weekend back home for Father’s Day and we spent the whole day sunbathing in the garden whilst daddykins lit up a BBQ and treated us to a glorious feast. So much for relaxing on Father’s Day eh dad?!

Family Time

There’s nothing like a weekend spent with the family and not even opening up your laptop. As a blogger, I spend every second I get outside of work to work on my blog. It’s hard to communicate just how much effort goes into blogging but it was so nice to switch off and not have to worry about writing or scheduling posts.

So during the weekend, we went to a Queen Tribute at my hometown’s theatre and it was amazing. By far one of the best tribute acts I’ve seen and I highly recommend it. Make sure you book tickets here if it’s coming to a theatre near you.

Glorious Tanning

Nothing like a bit of sunshine to hit the skin of a pale girl and turn her into a bronzed goddess – I mean, I’d like to think I look a little healthier with a tan anyway. Bring on more sun, please!

Too Hot To Sleep

With the hot weather, the rising temperatures mean sleep is definitely lacking. I had a pretty bad night’s sleep the other night and I can only expect that’s going to be the same if it continues to be hot at night.

Grenfell Tower

I was truly heartbroken about the news of Grenfell Tower. If you don’t know, London suffered yet another blow after a 24-storey building caught fire, claiming the lives of currently 58 people. This figure is expected to rise and the people of London are demanding those responsible for the fire, to be held accountable for their actions. It’s so sad that so many have lost their lives, with most being whole families. All my thoughts go out to those affected and if you’d like to donate to the support fund, you can do so here.

What have been your highs and lows this week? Let me know in the comments below.
