Live True Salon | Blowdries & Manicures

As we’re approaching the festive season, millions of us are prepping and preening ourselves to look that extra bit glamourous this Christmas. Whether it’s an office party, a night out on the town or a family gathering, it’s important to look and feel your best. For yourself and not for others of course. Live True Salon in London invited me along to their salon near Vauxhall to try out their Blow Dry and Gel Manicure treatments. As I had miraculously grown my nails on holiday, it was the perfect opportunity to keep up my no biting rule.

Live True Salon tableThe salon was located just a stone’s throw away from the River Thames and surrounded by corporate buildings and the odd chain cafe and supermarket in between.

Entering the salon, you were immediately faced with an inviting reception desk. To the right were a selection of hair styling areas with big vintage mirrors hanging down from the ceiling. To the left were two rustic wooden tables where customers were having hair treatments, being able to enjoy a glossy magazine and a cup of coffee.

Stylist AreaHair Washing SinksI was immediately attended to even though we arrived slightly early to the appointment. We sat down with a cup of tea and one of those lotus biscuits that are my favourite. They taste so freaking good.

I was collected by Edyta, a funny and out-going woman who definitely knew her stuff when it came to all things nails. The whole nail process took a little longer than expected but who doesn’t like getting pampered? Edyta asked me to pick out a colour and because I wanted something a little festive but also for the upcoming engagement dinner we had, I went with a shade called Tainted Love. A rich, dark red, this was apparently a very popular colour especially as someone else also went for it whilst I was there.

This is by far my favourite part whenever I get my hair done, having someone wash your hair. The trainee hair stylist also gave me a complimentary massage which was SO good and extremely relaxing.

Burgundy Nails up closeI didn’t manage to get any pictures of my blowdry as Sam (my fiance/photographer) had lost all hope of ever leaving the salon so resorted to playing on his phone. The salon used Red Ken as their shampoo and conditioning range which left my hair looking more volumised and glossy than usual. Hannah did a fantastic job of curling my hair using heat and a round brush which lasted for the rest of the evening. Unfortunately, this girl was pampered and ready to party but with nowhere to go!

Live True London is also offering my readers 25% off all hair services which is very sweet of them. Terms and conditions are below. What do you think of my gel nails? Let me know in the comments below.
