Styling An Autumn Blazer

Fashion is a constant learning experience. I feel as though my choice in clothing is getting better and that I’m finding the pieces that fit my shape, stay on trend but also show off my personality. I think this outfit definitely does that and I’ve been wanting to style this blazer for a while now but I’ve just not got round to creating a look with it. Styling an Autumn blazer is a look that you can do both for daytime and evening and a blazer is an ideal piece of outerwear for this topsy turvy season.

Business WearPinning my AW18 wardrobe on Pinterest is so much fun and one of the trends for this season is the blazer. It’s pretty much in every high street shop and there’s a ton of variations, including co-ord’s.

I went with this Double-Breasted Jacket in the Dark Blue/Pinstriped (£ pattern and for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been shopping around online for bottoms to go with it, particularly some dark blue/black jeans and so far the only jeans I like that fit me are H&M. However, I realised the other night that I have my black leggings sitting in the wardrobe which are perfect to team with the blazer.

New Look BlazerThe blazer cuts just around my bum which is perfect because it’s gracious on the shape of my body, not drowning me out in fabric but not fitted or cut at the hips which is where my body woes lie. The feel and fit of this blazer is gorgeous and I love the pinstriped pattern which goes so well against the dark blue fabric and the gold brass buttons on the sleeves and on the front.

I decided to go with the biz boss eleganza look and therefore accompanied this outfit with a few accessories. I think the glasses and earrings together with this outfit is a little too much but hey, who’s judging.

Cat Eye SunglassesNew Look Gold EarringsThe cat eye sunglasses are something I’ve been wanting forever and as these were in sale on New Look, I threw caution to the wind along with my £2.50 and I must say, I’m pretty impressed with how they look. I think they’ll work better more with a messy bun but I was vibin’ my inner boss in this look.

The Gold Oval Teardrop Stud Earrings were a great find and seeing as though I don’t have a lot of jewellery, I thought I’d add them to my collection. A steal for £2.50, there are plenty of variations of gold hooped earrings that are definitely worth snapping up on New Look right now. Also New Look, come through with a collab because you are my favs.

Formal WearThe leggings are a gazillion years old (from New Look again) and the boots are an old pair from Office that I got in Brighton for my last birthday. The bag is from a brand called Eve Leather who do designer inspired bags at affordable prices. This one is the Eldora Christie one that is a dupe of the Celine bags.
