Goals For UpYourVlog In 2019

Wow. What a year 2018 has been, not only for my personal life but for UpYourVlog too. As I’m only a few blog posts away from reaching 1,000 (I’m shocked that I’ve written that many), I wanted to give you an update on last year’s goals for the blog and my dreams for this year.

UpYourVlogSo for anyone who’s new to the blog or needs a reminder, here’s my post on the goals I set myself for 2018. And here’s an update on whether I achieved them.

Earn £12,000 with UpYourVlog – I cannot believe I’m saying this but I reached this goal! By the end of the year, I will have made £12,000 through my blog. Hard work and dedication pays off folks.

Instagram Stories – I have been loving Instagram stories and I’ve definitely been using it a lot more and seeing a great deal of interaction with it.

Hire A VA – In a sense, I think I have as I now pay someone to schedule my Twitter and Facebook posts each month. #bossbabe

Finish Blog Updates – Unfortunately, I didn’t realise just how long it would take me to go through each blog post and make the necessary amendments to improve my SEO, so this is something I still need to do.

Work On Pinterest – This is one I went full force with and I’ve now gone from having a few views a month to around 250-350,000. Quite a fair jump, wouldn’t you say?

So four out of the five is not too bad! For 2019, I want to strive for, even more, challenge myself and make this a potentially career-changing year. Simply Be

Earn £20,000 with UpYourVlog

I mean, you go hard or you go home, am I right? I really want to keep pushing my financial goal each year. Hopefully, I can turn this into a full-time career, so I can live out my dream of working from home and owning a dog. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would have even made the amount of money I made this year but it really does go to show that you if work hard, it’ll pay in your favour.

Define My Blog’s Purpose

UpYourVlog has never really been defined because I’ve covered everything and anything that is relative to me and my lifestyle. In 2019, I want to not only improve all previous posts but give my website a little update so it’s a little clearer for my readers to know what content I mainly produce.

I’m determined to finish all the blog updates that I said I’d do last year!

Improve My Photography

My photography has certainly improved over the years but this year, I want to take it to the next level. Whether that’s through flat lays or the way I photograph my own looks, I think there’s always a way of developing this skill. I’ve only got one camera so I might invest in a DSLR camera at some point down the line.

Figure Out Affiliate Marketing

I surprised myself when I figured how out Pinterest could work in my favour and I believe if I get more of an understanding of affiliate marketing, I can do the same for this. With affiliate marketing, it’s a great way of earning a passive income. For those who don’t know what is, it’s a way of bloggers getting a cut of sales through a product or service that a brand sells.

Know My Worth

Over the past year, I’ve accepted a lot of collaborations and when it comes to payment, I realise clients and brands vary in how much money they can contribute in return for my work. However, there are some collaborations, where big brands have offered very little. And I’m over it! It’s time I focused on knowing my worth and charging the right amount. It’s something that a lot of bloggers and influencers are trying to figure out and I feel some clients take advantage of this.

Focus On Social Media

I feel like I’ve got a bit of a love/hate relationship with Twitter and Instagram. Not only that but with recent changes to Facebook, I can now only schedule posts from my blog onto my page instead of on my personal account. So social media became a bit of a ball ache for the last part of this year.

This year, I want to focus on growing my numbers but through good photography, tailored content that’s relevant and using the right tips and tricks to reach more people. I also want to try re-investing some of the money I make into paid advertising on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

Start Back Up On YouTube

I do feel like YouTube is my calling so as soon as my office space is ready, I’ll be getting some new lighting equipment and my YouTube channel will be back with a bang. I just need to figure out what direction I want my YT channel to go in. I’m thinking about Home Decor, Fashion & Beauty.
