New Makeup To #SummerSlay | Cosmetify UK

YAS! The sun is shining, and it finally feels like the best part of the year for me, is finally here. Cosmetify UK kindly sent me some makeup to help transition my makeup routine to something a little more breathable. I got to pick the products myself and I thought I’d pick out three products that I could use on their own as part of a quick make-up look.Cosmetify UK When it comes to skincare and foundation, in particular, I always love a thick, full coverage foundation. I think it’s so good for winter and it helps cover up any tired under eye bags that I usually tend to get during the darker and colder times of the year. During the summer, I usually opt for more of a serum full coverage foundation or a tinted moisturiser. I don’t like the feel of a heavy foundation during the warm months as I tend to sweat a fair bit and that combined with my oily nose, does not bode well.

I’ve never tried a BB or CC cream before but always wanted to. So I picked out the Garnier SkinActive BB Cream. What drew me to this product was the 5-in-1 benefit and the fact that’s Garnier, a brand I love. It’s so light in consistency and actually feels like I’m rubbing on sun cream which is lovely. The coverage is fairly sheer but I’m actually not fussed about that because now is the time that I start fake tanning anyway. It has an SPF 15 to help protect the skin which is standard for most creams and foundations nowadays. Garnier SkinActive BB CreamFor £6.95, it’s a steal of a price. I got the shade in light but it also comes in Medium from what I can find on the site. I assume there’s a dark one kicking around somewhere.

When it comes to palettes, I think they’re so useful to just stick in your bag for when you need it on the go. And that’s what I was looking for when it came to a blush, bronzer, and highlighter. I wanted one that was all-in-one and had more subtle shades. The closest match for me was the e.l.f. Beautifully Bare Natural Glow Face Palette which comes in at £9.00. Not too bad for a four-pan palette! The shades are very subtle and I think for anyone darker than pale white like myself, it probably wouldn’t be as prominent. For me though, the warm pinks are perfect for mixing. If I want a touch of pink I’ll use the lighter shade and if I want more contour, I’ll dip into the darker pink on the bottom left. The bronzer in the bottom right is a perfect warm shade that’s just the right level of dark for contouring.

Elf Face PaletteMy only problem with the palette is the highlighter which is the top left. I saw no pay off on my face but I think I’m going to give it one last try, with a wet brush.

And finally, the lips! I’ve been yearning for this set of Huda Liquid Matte Mini lipsticks for so long and I’m pretty happy with all of them. We’ve got Bombshell, Wifey, Muse, and Venus. My two favorites from the pack are Wifey and Muse. I think the fact they are minis is great if you’re only trying out the formula for the first time. The only thing that bugs me slightly with these is that they’ve got quite a strong alcohol scent when applying. However, the gorgeous matte effect it has on the lips is S-T-U-N-N-I-N-G.Huda Beauty Lipsticks I definitely want to get Wifey and Muse in the full size. Venus and Bombshell are nice shades but they have too much of an orange undertone, which doesn’t suit my skin tone that well.

I’ve already been using these three products together for the past week and I’m loving it. What makeup have you got to #SummerSlay your look? Let me know in the comments below.
